Car Rental Noosa Heads

You’ve picked Queensland’s beautiful Sunshine Coast for your next vacation – nice choice! So that would make Noosa Heads the logical place to dip into Australia’s buzzy beach culture, get familiar with its nature, and experience some family-friendly attractions. This exciting little spot is on everyone’s lips and you’ll soon discover why. It’s seaside with a touch of luxe, but not too much. Here’s a chance to wear that designer swimsuit by the pool, if you splash out and stay a few nights at one of the fancy resorts. But it’s also laid-back enough to let you just roll out your old beach towel on the sands. There’s boutique shopping on the lively main strip, Hastings Street, and surf shops where you can add to your beach gear with popular Australian brands.

The range of cafes, up-scale dining, bars and nightspots also caters to a range of tastes and wallets. From the cheerful Betty’s Burgers to the chic Noosa Beach House. Eat on the waterfront at Noosa Boathouse and you can order a seafood feast, or take-out fish and chips. Either way, enjoy a meal with river views among pelicans and ducks.

First, let’s get our bearings. Noosa Heads sits at the northerly tip of the Sunshine Coast region – stretching from the Great Sandy National Park past Coolum down to Caloundra, near the state capital of Brisbane. The drive from downtown Brisbane to Noosa Heads takes two hours. With your handy hire car at the ready, you’ll be able to check out the seaside towns and stroll great beaches in between – plus much more. Dwell in the lush rainforests of the Noosa hinterland. Explore the Noosa National Park, moments from your doorstep. Have a close encounter with the native Aussie animals that we’re famous for, an hour away at Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo in Beerwah. Take a cruise to see humpback whales play in the Coral Sea in Mooloolaba. Go north to Rainbow Beach for multi-coloured sand cliffs. Plus, there are lakes, bays, wetlands, trails, and more outdoor activities than you can imagine, waiting for you all around Noosa.

Your hire car will introduce you to the unique beauty of Noosa Heads

What’s a break without some simple relaxation. Discover the charming village of Noosaville, five-minutes away. Jump on a ferry to experience the calm Noosa River. Or if you’re feeling energetic, hire a jet-ski or kayak. Noosa’s beaches also offer fun water-based activities. There’s something for the experienced and for those just wanting to sample before diving in deep. Try surfing lessons or stand-up paddleboarding. Horse-riding, snorkelling and of course, swimming in lifesaver-patrolled waters on Noosa Main Beach.

The best holidays include an unforgettable experience, something you couldn’t do anywhere else. Such as kayaking through the untouched wetlands of the Noosa Everglades. The only everglade system in the world outside of Florida, the Noosa Everglades comes with a big bonus – no crocodiles or alligators to disturb the peaceful journey. Instead, you’ll find rare birds and abundant wildlife. In fact, almost half of Australia’s bird species can be found here. The waters of the Upper Noosa River are so pure and clear that they call it the River of Mirrors. The reflections are a photographer’s dream! Whether self-guided or with an eco-tour, you can sail, canoe or kitesurf in this incredible wilderness. From Lake Cootharaba down to Laguna Bay, this is one unmissable trip.

Finding treasures is easy when you’re touring in your hire car

If you’re looking for an easy nature walk, there are some amazing trails at Noosa National Park. Take the morning to follow the headland on the popular Coastal Track that takes in native bushland with scenic views over the Pacific Ocean. Between May and November, you may be lucky enough to spot pods of dolphins and whales swimming off the coast.

Then fuel up with a lazy coffee in town and some brunch. Skip the designer boutiques on Hastings Street and make your way to the Original Eumundi Markets. Described as the biggest and best artisan market in Australia, be there with bells on, 30-minutes from Noosa Heads. Pick up something handcrafted and totally unique from the 500 stalls trading on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Enjoy the friendly vibe and listen to some live music while you grab a bagel or a vegan bite from one of the many food vendors. Get a gift for someone special, or size some up artwork for your wall at home – a perfect keepsake of your visit! You’ll love the variety of Noosa Heads, the fantastic surroundings, and the ways to unwind. Maybe enough to extend your vacation?
